Many people find themselves fed up with the lack of cleanliness that is often shown in chain restaurants. One person in particular is the managing partner of the Blue Moose, Mike Arria. And, it is because of those restaurants that the owner holds the Blue Moose to a higher standard. The Blue Moose is a clean and attractive place, with polite service as well as a unique modern look.
The Blue Moose has a very relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant has grey and blue tones throughout the area and television sets mounted up on the wall. On top of that, the area is dimly lit, so the lighting and paint colors emit a relaxing vibe. The restaurant has a modern theme with its exposed brick, industrial-style stairs and glass doors. But, the stained wooden columns and tables produces a bit of a rustic flair. There is a wide variety and range of music playing in the restaurant, spanning from country to pop. Overall, the restaurant is not some place you need to dress up extravagantly for, as it is a casual and relaxing environment.
In addition to the environment, the waiters are polite, kind and efficient. One major pet peeve people often have is when waiters are overly nice to the point where they appear fake. But, like the restaurant, the servers at the Blue Moose are laid back. Still, they also come around frequently to see if you need a drink refilled and to see if everything is acceptable with your food. I also like how the Blue Moose boxes up your extra food for you. It was a small gesture that separates them from other restaurants.
The options they have for your meal are vast, with burgers, pasta, pizzas, sandwiches, soups and even steak, so it an appealing place to take the family. Even though it is a little costly, for the amount of food you get, the prices seem fair. The food has good taste as well, and they make sure the food is a good temperature. The food I had was not necessarily as hot as I would have like it to be, but it was still enjoyable. On my trip to The Blue Moose, I ordered a Barbecue Chicken Flatbread Pizza. The pizza had a tangy barbecue sauce and crunchy texture that made it a savory meal. Some other options on the menu that sound appetizing are the “Build Your Own” Mac and Cheese, the Turkey Pesto Panini and Cajun Shrimp Pasta.
One thing many people are worried about when going out to eat is the cleanliness of the place. If you are planning on going to the Blue Moose, that is a worry you can put aside. According Shana Schmidt, who is the sister-in-law of Arria, the place is kept very clean. Schmidt claims that the owner once said to his workers that they are not a normal chain restaurant and we will not let our dining ware have soap residue. When I heard this, I was quite impressed, and it made me even more willing to go back again.
Even though The Blue Moose’s meals are not super hot out the kitchen, it is still place with good food, many options and polite service. The restaurant puts an emphasis on cleanliness, and it is a great place to take the family for a relaxed night out to eat.
