Oct. 25 was the end of the Elsie Grace sale for the Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
The Elsie Grace sale is a fundraiser to raise money for the club to do different activities. There are 18 members of FCCLA, including seniors Kerri Briggs, Jessie Niemeyer and Annette Trieb, junior Meagan Smith and sophomores Ashley Bramhall, Jayde Cantwell, Cassandra Ebert, Bethany Goehring, Kayla Huffman, Alexis McCormick, Dakota Nelson, Briana Spriggs, Beth Stanley, Megan Thompson, Morgan Tiers and Alexis Wilson
People joined FCCLA for different reasons.
Ebert said, “Both of my sisters were in FCCLA, and so I thought I’d try it.”
When asked how much money they intend to try and raise, the sponsor of FCCLA, Kjerstine Vaughn, said, “With this fundraiser, $500.”
The money that will be earned will be going towards activities, such as planning family dinner on Oct. 29, fall leadership conference on Nov. 7 in Wamego and the national cluster meeting on Nov. 16-18 in Oklahoma City.
FCCLA members said they are excited for different activities this year. Briggs said that what she was excited for in FCCLA was,“The possibility of going to a conference in Oklahoma with some other members,” while Goehring said, “Getting to go on trips and meeting new people.”
