A new Long John Silver’s re-opened recently in Manhattan. Manhattan used to have a Long John Silver’s, however, they closed because they were bought out for the new reconstruction on 3rd Street.

Long John Silver’s has a pretty good variety of food. On a scale of one to 10, it would probably be a seven, as their food is quite tasty. I know that when I ordered their fish basket, that it was quite delicious with malt vinegar on top.  They also provide a variety of sauces for you to choose from to make your meal even more satisfying, which includes tartar sauce, real mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup and many more unique options. If you have ever have had a meal at Long John Silver’s, then you will surely know about their hush puppies. Their hush puppies consist of milk, egg, flour, cornmeal, baking powder, garlic salt and onion powder. All of those ingredients combined form the tasty goodness of a hush puppy. They come with every meal, unless you are not a fan of those and order a different side instead.

Their service is awesome too, as you are ordering the food. Most of the employees answer with an inviting smile, which makes the process of ordering smooth. While in the building, I could see a few big differences from the old Long John Silver’s. They have a flat screen TV, very clean surroundings and two pretty nice bathrooms. The old Long John Silver’s included drive-through, however, which is not longer provided; they now do only dine-in or carry-out service.

In my opinion, it is a great restaurant where you can get great food, and great service. Their lowest price on a food item is $.39 for a small side of hush-puppies and their highest is $22.99 — a high price, but for is really good for 12 pieces of fish and two sides. They open anywhere from around 10:30 a.m. and close around 9-10 p.m. So, go and eat at an inexpensive restaurant that serves great food.
